Yes. Hardware is gold-filled — Lauryn tried brass (tarnishes) and alloy (chips) before settling on gold-filled, which lasts. Backs are rubber, not metal: "A lot of people use metal because it's cheaper, but I don't. I'm very sensitive with my ears, so I have to be careful with all that." Lead-free and nickel-free, safe for sensitive ears.
Every pair weighs less than an ounce. That's why Lauryn started in clay in the first place — the 90s-hoop "drooped ears at the end of the night" feel doesn't happen with polymer clay, even on big statement pieces. Most customers tell us they forget they're wearing them.
Yes — Sweet Tree carries a full UT brand license (not a crafter's license). 17% of every UT sale goes back to the University of Tennessee to support the school, athletes, and athletic programs. To our knowledge, Sweet Tree is the only clay maker with an officially licensed UT collection.
Keep them dry — skip the shower or the pool. Wipe gently with a dry cloth if they need it. Store flat or hanging; don't toss them loose in a bag where the clay can get dinged.
