Built for the SEC — by a Tennessee maker.

Sweet Tree started in August 2020, when founder Lauryn Whitman was getting ready for a Tennessee game and wanted an accessory that finished her outfit. She came home and made the first pair in Tennessee orange and white. Game day shops picked it up. The line grew.

Today Lauryn and her team of moms in Oak Ridge handcraft every pair of Sweet Tree by hand. The Tennessee collection is the heart of the line — and it's the only collection in the brand that carries the full University of Tennessee license. Not a crafter's license, not a one-off submission, the full brand license. Every Tennessee piece sold sends 17% back to the university.

17% of every UT sale supports UT.

You're not just buying a pair of earrings — you're supporting the school's athletes and facilities, the same way a licensed jersey or hat does. The knockoffs on Etsy don't.

And the comfort claim is real. Every Sweet Tree style weighs less than an ounce. None of the 90s droopy-ear feeling — they look bold, they feel like nothing. You'll forget you're wearing them until someone stops you for a compliment.

Quick answers

Is the Tennessee collection officially licensed by UT?

Yes — Sweet Tree carries the full University of Tennessee brand license. 17% of every Tennessee piece sold supports the university. We're the only claymaker we know of who holds the full license.

How heavy are the earrings?

Every Sweet Tree style weighs less than an ounce. The clay looks substantial but doesn't pull on your ears — none of that 90s droopy-ear feeling. You'll forget you're wearing them until someone stops to ask.

Are the materials hypoallergenic?

Yes. Gold-filled posts and hardware (waterproof on the metal parts), rubber backs instead of metal because Lauryn (the founder) has sensitive ears and built the line for sensitive ears. Lead-free, nickel-free.

How fast does shipping take?

Most orders ship from Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 3–5 business days. Free shipping on US orders over $50.

Can I find Sweet Tree at a local store?
